Making Graduation Accessible: How Team Lucin Brought the High School of Art & Design’s Ceremony to Every Family’s Screen by Live Streaming

Live Stream. High School of Art & Design takes accessibility and inclusivity seriously. Space is limited at graduations so we use technology to live stream it for the families to enjoy from home.

When it comes to life’s milestone moments, every family deserves a front-row seat — even when space is limited.

Since 2021, Team Lucin has proudly partnered with the High School of Art & Design to make their graduations accessible and unforgettable through professional live streaming.

It began during the pandemic, when outdoor ceremonies at Randall’s Island’s Icahn Stadium became the norm. As restrictions eased and the school moved the ceremony back indoors to CUNY Hunter College, a new challenge arose:

While the auditorium was beautiful, it had no built-in live streaming capabilities. We knew families at home still deserved to experience every proud moment.

So we made it happen.

Graduation Live Streaming for High School Ceremonies

At its core, live streaming isn’t just about cameras and cables — it’s about inclusion.

Here’s how we brought the High School of Art & Design’s graduation to hundreds of living rooms:

The Graduation Live Streaming Process.

1. Scout the Venue

Before the big day, we conduct a full tech scout. We assess audio and video needs, cable runs (including up to the balcony if needed), and identify any gaps we need to fill with our own gear.

2. Design Branded Assets

Graduation is a once-in-a-lifetime event — the livestream visuals should reflect that.

Using the school’s flyer designs, we created a full graphics package including:

  • “Starting Soon” screens

  • Camera overlays

  • Presentation split-screen layouts

  • Interpreter camera options

Design brand elements. Turning logos and pamphlets to the live stream branding.

3. Load-In & Setup

We prefer setting up the day before to test every camera, projector, and audio line. When that’s not possible, we ensure at least 3–5 hours pre-event for setup and troubleshooting — because in live production, things happen.

4. Go Live

We stream the event directly to the school’s preferred platform — whether YouTube, Facebook, or a private Vimeo link with an embeddable code for the school’s website.

No easy-to-update website? No problem — we offer web support too.

A Tradition of Excellence

As we head into our fourth year supporting the High School of Art & Design’s graduation in June 2025, it’s a tradition we’re honored to continue.

Because every graduate deserves a stage — and every family deserves a front-row view.
